New Dies!!!!

So since the Lawnscaping Challenge 69 is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp I decided to stray from my Lawn Fawn Stamps and use my brand new Simon Says Stamp dies!  I am SOOO excited to have gotten them in the mail tonight and they are better than I had hoped!  I used the Merry Christmas Die and the Full Card Hexagons Die.  I then cut the dies again using Lawn Fawn's Peace Joy Love 6x6 paper pad to create a very simple and easily replicable card!  I created the cards using both red and green cardstock but find after creating them that I like the red better!

This may be one of the Christmas Cards I create in bulk and send to family and friends.

I think the green needs one of the red patterned papers to offset all the green.

Hope you enjoyed!

I've gone Banana's for YOU! :)

This was completely outside of my comfort zone because it uses yellow... A LOT of yellow!!!  I used more of the Mama Elephant Basic Borders stamps along with Lawn Fawn's My Silly Valentine.  This is a pretty simple card that was mostly to just challenge myself to create a monochromatic card and to use a color I RARELY use!  Overall I am happy with the results.

I also figured since I have created the card and have updated the blog I would use it for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge #69!  The challenge is all about Sentiments.  Sadly I missed the challenge using monochromatic maybe next time. :)  Hope you enjoy!

Plaid Christmas Card inspired by Kristina Werner

So I recently saw Kristina Werner create a very cool card using some masking paper and various inks and thought that is an amazing card and I wonder if I can use some of my Lawn Fawn stamps and newer Momento Luxe inks to create the same effect even though I don't have as many different stripes as she did.  Turns out... I can! :)
I used Tag, You're It for the Lawn Fawn stamps and Mama Elephant's Basic Borders for the stripes.
For the inks I used all pigment inks which included Memories Unicorn, Momento Luxe Love Letter and Pistachio.  The black is Versafine Black ink.

I love the effect of this one as much with mine as I did with Kristina Werner's! :)  You can see her's here.

I decided to use this card to play along with Lawnscaping Challenge #69 which is all about Sentiments.
I hope you enjoy and this inspires you the way Kristina's card inspired me! :)

Bear Hugs

Okay just going to pop in here with a last ditch effort to see if I can win the One Layer Card Challenge from Lawn Scaping.
Lawnscaping Challenge #63

Ever had that card that you just don't LOVE??? Well this is mine. I look at it now and see how I can take this card and create inspiration through it to create a better card. Unfortunately I'm in Australia right now and that wasn't possible. Maybe when I get back I can use it and create something much better.  This is a very cute clean and simple card but I think I could do more with it. :)  Hope you enjoy though.

Congrats on the House

I have my second card for the LawnScaping Challenge #63.  The goal is to make it only one Layer.

This was by FAR one of the more extensive stamping jobs I have done in a while.  I combined quite a few of my Lawn Fawn stamp sets to come up with this card.  The house is from Happy Haunting, the grass from Gnome Sweet Gnome, the tree is from Critters in the Burbs, the sidewalk is from Interlocking Backdrops, and the sentiment is from So Much to Say.  The only non Lawn Fawn stamp is the sun and it is from Hero Arts.  I thought of using the moon From Happy Haunting but it wasn't working for me. :)

This card was super time consuming though because I had to stamp all of the images and then cut them out on scrap paper and then work on the order in which I stamped them.  After I had them ALL stamped and masked off then I used Distress Inks to create the grass and sky.  I used my Copics to color in the images.

I would love to say that I will do more cards like this and while I love it I am not sure I have the patience to spend on a TON of these cards.  I can't wait for my next friend to buy a house because I really want to send this to them! :)

Hope you have enjoyed and feel free to leave comments.  I love reading them! :)

Thank You Card

Today I have a very cute card for you for the LawnScaping Challenge #63.

The goal is to create a One Layer Card which typically is not my forte. I do love Clean and Simple cards but I just tend to grab my foam dots to pop images off the page. This card I definitely think is still clean and simple yet sooooo adorable. I can definitely see making this card in bulk to give as a gift to people because it was so easy! I used the Say A Birdie Told Me and Interlocking Backdrops from Lawn Fawn as well as many of the various Thank You sentiments I have received from them when I order my stamps/dies/paper. Honestly I have to say one of the reasons I love ordering from Lawn Fawn is because of the bonus stamp you always get with your orders! That and the personal note from Kelly or one of the Lawn Fawn team.

I then used my copics to color in the Interlocking Backdrop and used a grey to outline my talk bubbles to give it some depth and viola. Now had I been able to add some dimension I think I would have popped up some of the individual hexagons and talk bubbles but I don't think it actually needs it.

Tomorrow I'm heading off to Australia for a couple weeks for work but when I get back hopefully I can create some new cards for the next Challenge. :) Part of me wants the Critters Down Under stamp set so I can commemorate my trip.  Also I'm hoping I can buy a pretty Opal ring while I'm down there.  October is my birth month so that is my birthstone and Australia has some of the prettiest Opals I have ever seen!  My last trip down under I bought my first piece of jewelry for myself which was an amazing opal necklace and I always get compliments on it.

Hope you enjoyed and feel free to make comments.  I love reading them! :)

Thinking of You

So in case you can't tell I've had some down time this last weekend and this week during work.  I'm sure things will pick up very soon as the end of the month is approaching and I am heading to Australia for work for two weeks but until then I have another card to share. :)

I actually have a bunch more on my computer for things I did for my recent wedding six months ago.  For any wondering where I had gone since I posted for a while but then went MIA it was because my now hubby proposed last April and since that time I have planned and executed a wedding, changed companies to take on a new job better suited to me and we built a house together.  In total I have moved now 4 times within a year!  But now we have been married about 6 months and things are starting to settle down and I am hoping to do much more scrapping so hopefully that means I will also update my blog more  often. :)

So one of the things I have been obsessed with lately is my copics.  I already had a pretty decent sized stash but about two months ago Archiver's had a sale to buy one marker get one free!  Well needless to say I stocked up on a ton of them.  At my store they are $8/each so to get 2 for $8 was a STEAL!  My usual method has been to go to Hobby Lobby over my lunch break (sooo close to my new job) and use my 40% off coupon to buy one marker at a time.  So one of the color groups I was seriously lacking on was my browns to make more hair colors so that had been my goal lately.  One day I randomly went to get my one marker and Hobby Lobby had their Copics on clearance... they were $2.50/each!!!!!  Needless to say I made the sales person go through my list with me on what I had versus what was on sale.  It was Christmas in July!!!  So then I called my mom told her and she went and checked her Hobby Lobby.  They weren't as cheap as I found them at my store but she ended up buying me 4 more markers for my stash.  So as a thank you I made her this card with some of my newest stamps and used my Copics to color the image. :)
The girl is the Simply Anya stamp from The Greeting Farm and I must say I am really loving her!  She was a lot of fun to color.  I can't wait to make her have lots of different hair colors.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp's Sentiments Inside and Out set.  It is kinda hard to read in the picture but it says Thinking of you when I made this card..... that's why I sent it to you (inside).

Thanks for stopping by and remember comments are always welcomed! :)

Lawnscaping Challenge #62 (yet again!)

Wow so 3 posts within 2 days... you would think I was busy crafting lately.  :)  This one is a repeat almost of an earlier card I had done for a friend and saw it when I was updating it with my first submission.  I thought hmmm I should recreate that and submit it for the Lawnscaping Challenge #62... it fits right in and I still think it's cute!  The stamp set for the clothes is from Hero Arts A Kiss From the Sun to You set and the sentiment was made using Claire's ABC's from Lawn Fawn.  All of the papers are Lawn Fawn.  The shirts and dress are from the Bright Side collection and the jeans are from Daphne's Closet.  I used Martha Stewarts's scissors to create the grass.  Oh and  that clothes line is made from Lawn Trimmings Lemon Cord.  I think this is an adorable card to use to set up playdates or simply thank people for coming by.  I hope you enjoy and who knows maybe I will win something! :)  I can always use new Lawn Fawn stamps but comments are always appreciated too!

Thanks for stopping by,
Lisa

Lawnscaping Challenge #62

Look at me... back so soon... :)  I don't know what it is but this week I'm feeling super creative!

I have created a new card for Lawnscaping Challenge #62 from a sketch I love to go back to again and again.  To put the sentiment at the bottom and then the design above it.  This time I did paper piecing with the different layers of the flower.  In between each layer I put foam adhesive to help it stand out.  All the papers are from Lawn Fawn's Bright Side collection and the sentiment is from So Much to Say.  The flower is the Hand Drawn Flower from Hero Arts.  Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for looking!

Lawnscaping Challenge

Okay so it's been FOREVER since I last posted but I'm finally going to add another post.  Mostly because I finally got around to doing a challenge.  So I was talking with the Hubby about how I have a stamp set that I like but honestly had never used because I didn't know what I would use it for so decided to go ahead and try and do something with it.  I actually think it came out pretty well!  I used Neenah Solar White Cardstock for the base and then Lunar Lights for the stamps and I put together the sentiment using Jessie's ABC's.  After I finished making it and took the picture it got handed to the Hubby because without having talked to him about this stamp set I wouldn't have thought to make it.  I honestly think it's one of the cutest yet so simple!  Oh the papers are from Pink Lemonade.

The border along the bottom is from Mama Elephant's Basic Borders.  I hope you enjoy and maybe just maybe I'll win something! :D  That would be especially helpful since Lawn Fawn has been previewing their new stamps, dies and papers and there are some serious MUST HAVES on my list!

Hope you all have a great day and with luck I'll be back here more often.  ;)
