Sorry I've been MIA but back with new cards

So I recently got a new Ipad 3 and I had created this huge post and all I needed to do was upload the photos and it died on me :(  So I'm finally rewriting the post.

My New Year's resolution kinda went the way of the usual dieting resolution.  However I'm going to try and do better because while I have been creating I haven't been photographing or blogging about them!  So I'm BACK or at least I am for a bit as I'm about to head off on vacation in 7 days!  I get a wonderful 11 days in Disney World.

So a few months ago I went to the Nutcracker Market here in Houston.  It benefits the Houston Ballet and they sell all kinds of awesome and amazing things.  One of the booths we saw had some really cute knitted hats and one of the ones I really wanted to buy was this cute hate that looked like a football!  However for that price I figured I could either figure out how to make it but in the end I bartered with my friend Danie and she is creating the hat for me and I am trading her some handmade Thank You cards.  So without further ado here are a few I have created for her in the last few weeks.

So I hope you have enjoyed some of these cards.  :)  Some were super easy to come up with like the little flowers one.  It was just a sticker set I had gotten a while ago and thought hmm let's go with a simple easy cute card.  Most of the stamps are either from Hero Arts or Lawn Fawn.  I finally got my new stamps and paper which is the super cute purple shirt above and the orange flowery paper on the HI card with the Gnome.  I have to say when I first started stamping my favorite stamp company was Hero Arts but since Lawn Fawn has appeared on the scene I am in LOVE with that company.

So another reason I have been MIA is also because lately I've been focusing on knitting a new project.  My boyfriend is a huge Doctor Who fan so I came across a pattern for a huge almost life-sized Tardis blanket going through space.  So I have been working on it since the beginning of February.  My goal by the time I head off on vacation to be 25% done.  Since it is 600 lines total that is 150 done!  I'm pretty impressed with that.  I will hopefully be back very soon with some photos of my progress so far. Hope you have enjoyed my update finally! :D  See you soon.

Thank You Card

Okay I have kinda of been MIA the last few weeks.  In my defense it was a little busy on weekends as we had a birthday party a couple weeks ago and then last weekend I brought two of my friends to the dark side. :)  Actually I hopefully just gave them an idea of what scrapbooking is about and what are some of the possiblities that are available to them.  We went over everything from different paper to sizes to adhesives and how to stamp! My hope is that soon I'll have some people to actually go to crops with versus my usual MO which is to stay home and flip on a movie and chill out with my stuff.  Anyway it was a lot of fun and I think they both loved it as they have since bought stuff and told me how excited they are now to get started with their scrapbooks.  I think it's funny since I make less scrapbooks and WAY more cards.

On to the one card I have actually made in the last couple weeks.  This one was for my boyfriend's parents.  He and I are heading to Disney World in April and his parents were generous enough to give us two nights free at the Hilton in Downtown Disney using their points!  That means we get Extra Magic Hours and get into the park before others and also can stay later!  The rest of the time we will be accross the street at the Holiday Inn as we have enough points there plus we had points to use for our flights so it's turning into a pretty reasonable vacation to Disney!

So all I did was punch out Mickey ears from a punch I had gotten a few months ago and then put Glossy Accents over them and let them dry.  I then used my Martha Stewart scissors and cut some grass and stamped some balloon strings from my Lawn Fawn set and stamped Bunches of Thanks at the bottom in the grass.  I think it's really cute and didn't take a ton of time.  Longest thing is waiting for the Glossy Accents to dry but I love the effect of it.

My goal this weekend is to make a BUNCH of cards as I kinda feel like I'm going through withdrawl.  I have like 5 birthdays in February and then Valentine's day and I also need to make some Thank You cards for my friend.  We are doing a swap as she plans on making me a Football stocking cap and I said I'd give her some cards.  I will try and be back later this week as I have also recently finished knitting a blanket for a friend's little boy.  Until next time... Thanks for looking! :D

Birthday Cards

So back in October I celebrated my 30th birthday and I had just moved back to Houston a few weeks earlier so it was also a celebration to get to see all my closest friends again.  So I decided to play with stamps from two of my favorite companies: Lawn Fawn and Hero Arts.  Well I loved the card I made for my part I decided to use the idea again and some left over cupcakes I had to create the same look for my brother's fiance.  I actually am not sure if I like her card better or my invitation. Both I think are super fun and actually pretty easy.  The first here is the invitation... On the back side I just printed off all the details on my computer and then popped it in the mail.  I actually added Stickles to the cupcake but I took this picture before I added the detail.  The nice thing about this card is that it's flat for easy mailing however it would be easy to add a little dimension like the second card.

The pink card is pretty much the exact same design except it being just flat it is an actual card.  I stamped the polaroid on white cardstock and then mounted that on grey cardstock.  The picture doesn't actually show it well but the white is Liquid Applique and then I just heat zapped it.  Then I put some pink Stickles over it to match.  It looks like icing with sprinkles. :)  Now I just need to pop it in the mail.

Well I am doing much better on my New Year's Resolution of taking pictures of my cards and actually putting them on my blog and doing it frequently.  Apparently the Lawn Fawn Challenge was just what I needed to get me motivated.  That and knowing at least two people looked at it since they put comments.  :)

Thanks
Lisa :)

My second entry ever for a Contest

All Aboard -
Used Critters of the Forest and Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum
Here is the card I'm hitching my wagon to. I am REALLY proud of my All Aboard card as I combined masking, copic coloring and even did some creative stamping to make my log really long.  It definitely took some time but I think it looks really great and best of all I had fun doing it.  I used only two stamp sets with Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum and Critters in the Forest.  I came up with the inspiration when I used the bow from Pa Rum and saw the All Aboard.  I thought hmmm I could make all the critters on board.  I also really love it because I'm so "All Aboard" the Lawn Fawn train.   Hope you all like my entry and hey maybe someone will follow my sad little blog with all three posts.  :)   LOL

My first entry ever for Lawn Fawn Challenge!

So I have definitely been lacking on the posting but here is a start! :)  One of my current favorite stamping companies is Lawn Fawn and I keep saying I'm going to enter contests and now I am finally doing it!  While I will probably not win with the Thanks Friend card I figure I may as well enter it since I have nothing to lose.  Thanks Friend was created using Critters in the Forest and Just My Type and the bow is from Pa Rum Pa Pum Pum.   Thanks for stopping by.
